Become a member at the Supporting Level ($100) or higher and get a framed lithograph of “Riverside Collage” by Riverside artist George Ann Leonard, reproduced from Tom Patterson’s Landmarks Of Riverside by her children (one of whom is our own Board Secretary Laura Densmore).
About the artist:
George Ann (Graham) Leonard moved to Riverside, CA, in 1946 from her hometown of Monmouth, IL, moving westward after the war to start a new life with her husband. She worked at Rouse’s Department Store until the birth of her two children, Mark and Laura.
In 1961 she went to work for the Press-Enterprise in the advertising department, and soon rose to the position of Art Director. It was during her career at the Press where she began her long friendship and collaboration with the writer, Tom Patterson. In 1964, at Tom’s request, George Ann created some of the artwork for his book, “Landmarks of Riverside”.
This print is a reproduction of one of those drawings. Her children, Mark Leonard and Laura Densmore, hope you enjoy her artwork.”
